CHRISTMAS AT TARA
A FAMILY TRADITION
In this family practice everyone helps with the biggest annual event – Christmas.

Every year, on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, the magic begins. The switch is flipped, and nearly 500,000 twinkling lights light up the night, casting a warm glow over the entire Tara Plantation grounds. Over 30 life-size figures, each brimming with holiday spirit, adorn the property, turning it into a Christmas wonderland. The Grall family, with hearts full of holiday joy, spends countless hours preparing and decorating, creating a breathtaking spectacle that welcomes thousands of visitors each year.
Since 1990, this beloved tradition has been brought to life by Bernard Grall, his wife Marge, and their entire family, with each year adding new enchantment to this cherished Christmas masterpiece. For many families, visiting Christmas at Tara has become a heartwarming tradition of their own, evoking memories of Christmases past and creating new ones to carry forward for years to come. Tens of thousands of community members have shared in the wonder of Tara, making it an event that fills hearts with joy and nostalgia.
So, what sparked the idea to light up Tara?
“Probably having eight children contributed to it,” says Bernie Grall. “We love Christmas. It’s such a special time of the year when people are at their best. We wanted to share that warmth and happiness with our community.”
